Premier Field Engineer -SQL

This motivated person will be responsible for delivering SQL Server consulting/ support onsite for a designated strategic DDS customer. The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years experience with SQL Server 2000/SQL 2005. SQL Server 2008 is a plus. This candidate will act as a resource for on-going SQL planning and deployment; help with analysis of current supportability in the migration to new SQL environments; and will be responsible for SQL workshops and training for customer's existing support staff. The applicant should have experience with the development/ support of SQL applications in .NET. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate and give examples of their ability to function and contribute to a team-oriented environment. This person should be able to function in difficult political situations managing both the client and the technical issue.
Responsibilies:
Manage escalations and cases to ensure timely and high quality resolution of all issues.
Develop/implement strategies for providing facilitative support resulting in fewer incidents, increased availability, or accelerated deployments.
Partner with the account management team to effectively manage critical situations including documented action plans and daily status updates for the customer and Microsoft management..
Develop a working relationship with Microsoft Consulting Services and field staff at your accounts that results in increased cooperation and mutual support in achieving each other's goals.
Execute formal post-mortem process on closure of critical issues.
Initiate and participate in triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and to efficiently resolve customer problems.
Assist with delivery of supportability reviews for your customers including risk assessments and remediate their environment accordingly.
Qualifications: 4 year technical degree or equivalent work experience, plus 4-6 years experience in technical support or managing information services in an Enterprise environment.
•Demonstrated technical competence with Microsoft BackOffice Technologies and SQL2000/2005 database platforms.
•Conversationalist level of knowledge of all Microsoft products used in an enterprise environment.
•Strong technical writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate with customer managers and executives on technical and business issues.
•Ability to effectively communicate with customer managers and executives on technical and business issues
•Working knowledge of SQL programming.
•Strong organization, time management, project management, and negotiation skills.
•The position will require some travel to customer site
